Mission

At Thrive Creative Exchange, our mission is to open pathways into commercial real estate through education, collaboration, and the power of creative finance. We empower veterans and the broader community by providing real-world guidance, fostering meaningful partnerships, and building a supportive ecosystem in this space. Through education and connection, we equip veterans, their supporters, and aspiring investors from all walks of life with the tools, knowledge, and networks they need to succeed, build legacy, and Thrive—transforming vision into lasting impact.

Vision

To establish the nation’s most inclusive community in commercial real estate and creative finance—where veterans, their supporters, and diverse leaders come together to share experience, build partnerships, and create opportunity. We envision a future where bold investors and entrepreneurs—whether seasoned in service or in life—lead confidently, transforming neighborhoods, creating new legacies, and forging pathways for others to grow and Thrive. Together, we are reshaping what it means to serve, build, and invest—turning commitment into movement and impact into a powerful force for good.

CO-FOUNDERJennifer Brewer is the Co-Founder of Thrive Creative Exchange and the Vice President of Thrive AssetMx, Inc., a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business focused on acquiring and operating commercial multifamily assets in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Together with her husband James, Jennifer helped build and scale Thrive AssetMx into a fully vertically integrated multifamily operating platform, internalizing asset management, property management, renovations, maintenance, and construction. This structure enables tighter operational control, faster project execution, and stronger alignment between ownership strategy and day-to-day operations.

Their current personal portfolio consists of 104 apartment units valued at approximately $15 million.

OPERATIONS LEADERSHIPJennifer plays a central role in managing the internal operations and administrative infrastructure across all Thrive AssetMx entities and partnerships.

Her leadership ensures that the operational side of the business runs smoothly — from internal coordination and property performance monitoring to renovation planning and operational decision-making. By overseeing the firm’s internal systems and operational workflows,

Jennifer enables Thrive AssetMx to execute its strategy efficiently while allowing James to focus on acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic growth.

Her ability to translate strategy into execution is one of the key reasons the Thrive platform has been able to scale successfully.

THRIVE CREATIVE EXCHANGEJennifer is also a driving force behind Thrive Creative Exchange, the community designed to help investors learn how to Own, Operate, and Optimize multifamily assets through real-world education and collaboration.

While James focuses heavily on acquisitions and deal strategy, Jennifer brings the operational discipline and systems thinking required to successfully run apartment communities after the deal closes. She plays a critical role in designing the educational framework of the program, developing thoughtful, structured course content that helps investors learn step-by-step how to enter the multifamily space with clarity and confidence.

Jennifer also leads social media strategy, community engagement, and communication across the platform, helping foster the collaborative environment that makes the Exchange a true learning community rather than just another real estate course.

Her operational insight ensures that members of Thrive Creative Exchange learn not only how to acquire multifamily properties, but how to operate them effectively once they do.

PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUNDPrior to entering the multifamily industry, Jennifer worked in education and educational administration, where she developed the leadership, communication, and curriculum design skills that now shape the learning experience within Thrive Creative Exchange.

She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from California State University, Long Beach, along with her Teaching Credential in Elementary Education.

Her background in teaching enables her to design engaging, thoughtful, and highly structured course content, ensuring that investors move beyond theory and actually implement what they learn.

Her experience managing classrooms, coordinating programs, and guiding complex organizations provides a strong foundation for overseeing the internal systems, people, and processes that drive Thrive’s operational success.

WHY THRIVE CREATIVE EXCHANGE EXISTSAfter building and operating his own multifamily portfolio, James recognized that many investors struggle not with ambition, but with access to real-world guidance and operational insight.

Thrive Creative Exchange was created to bridge that gap — giving investors a place to learn inside real deals, collaborate with other operators, and gain the confidence to acquire and run multifamily assets successfully. As James often says: “We don’t just talk apartments — we walk them.”

COMMITMENT TO MENTORSHIP AND SERVICEMentorship has been a defining theme throughout James’ career. In 2019, he helped launch the Hiring Our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program within his large software company as part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge initiative, helping transitioning service members move from military service into civilian careers.

Building on that success, James is also helping launch the SCALE | CRE Foundation, a nonprofit focused on creating pathways for Veterans into commercial real estate.
