James Brewer

James Brewer is a native of Chicago, Illinois, and the President and CEO of Thrive AssetMx, Inc, a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business focused as an Owner/Operator in the commercial multifamily market in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His private companies are vertically integrated with Asset Management, Property Management, renovations, maintenance & services in-house, currently with 74 Units/$8M AUM.

He is also a Founding Partner of SCALE | CRE, a Co-General Partner in Class A and B multifamily assets in South Dakota and Utah totaling 321 units/$76M AUM. Mr. Brewer holds a Certificate in Energy Innovation from Stanford, a Master’s degree from Georgetown, and a Bachelor’s from The Citadel.  Prior to his experience in commercial real estate, he proudly served more than 23 years in the United States Marine Corps, commanding units of 100+ Marines, and deploying in combat and across the globe. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Communications (G-6) at Headquarters Marine Corps Reserves in New Orleans, Louisiana.

James has an enormous passion for mentoring and educating others and is focused on giving back to our Veterans through the forming of SCALE | CRE FOUNDATION, a Veteran and commercial real estate focused non-profit set to launch in 2026. In his civilian capacity, James co-founded the Hiring our Heroes Corporate Fellowship Program (a DoD SkillBridge Program) for his large software company in 2019. Their mission was to assist Active Service Members in their transition from Active Duty to the Civilian corporate world with a focus on opportunities within the software industry. His efforts through the Foundation will replicate that success in commercial real estate.

James currently lives in San Diego, California with his wife Jennifer and four young children.

Jennifer, our Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, plays a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day administrative and operational functions across all Thrive AssetMx entities and partnerships. With a sharp focus on strategic asset management and decision-making, she ensures that the company’s internal affairs are coordinated seamlessly, allowing James, our President, to concentrate on strategic partnerships and key acquisitions. Jennifer’s strong analytical, managerial, communication, and leadership skills from her decades of teaching and education administration enable her to provide crucial risk assessments, guiding the company through innovative ventures while maintaining a solid operational foundation.

Her ability to balance operational efficiency with strategic foresight makes Jennifer an indispensable leader at Thrive AssetMx. By managing complex internal processes and driving effective decision-making, she supports the company’s ambition to push boundaries and set new industry standards. Jennifer’s expertise ensures that Thrive AssetMx not only navigates risks effectively but also capitalizes on opportunities for growth and innovation, solidifying its position as a trailblazer in the industry.
